Review: Detroit Urban Craft Fair

The Detroit Urban Craft Fair was a huge success this year with record attendance! We had a great time and would like to thank everyone who came out to support us and the other local vendors.

We unveiled a couple new items including our holiday themed mustache ornaments and these screen printed “It’s So Cold in the D” Christmas cards.

If you missed the Detroit Urban Craft Fair, you can find the card in our Etsy store, along with other new items to be listed in the next day or two.

Thanks again to everyone involved in the event this past weekend!

Mustache Ornaments

Today I finally finished my new mustache ornaments to sell at the Detroit Urban Craft Fair.

mustache ornaments

Originally, I intended the mustaches to be sold separately from the regular bulb shapes, with each piece being its own ornament. As I was cutting out the pieces however, I set one of the mustaches on top of the bulb and suddenly I realized how perfectly each mustache worked with each bulb to make a far superior ornament.

We also ordered paper from French Paper Co. to cover the back and make both sides festive.

Becoming the person you want to be

Yesterday was my final day of classes for the quarter. I spent around 20 hours over the last few days making this flash website. The last thing I wanted to do when I turned the project in was more work, but with the holiday next week there’s only so much time to get projects done before the Detroit Urban Craft Fair.

So I printed.

When you’re doing something you love, working can become this relaxing, mind-settling activity. I left open studio feeling really at peace and I realized that I am finally the person I want to be. I may not be exactly where I want to be in life, but I am working towards it and that gives me a sense of fulfillment.

The Detroit Urban Craft Fair

With just a little over two weeks until The Detroit Urban Craft Fair, now seemed as good a time as any to announce that What Good Have I Done Today? will have a booth at the event on December 3rd and 4th at the Masonic Temple.

We’ll be spending much of the next couple weeks building up our stock and adding a few new items to our inventory as well. Don’t forget to come out and see us!
