The countdown to the holiday season is upon us. I’ve been Christmas shopping like crazy. I haven’t sent mine out yet, but I’ve already received a few cards in the mail. Here are a few of our favorite holiday cards from Etsy.
Since Thanksgiving is officially over, I feel ready to start blogging about Christmas. I thought I’d start out with a round-up of some of the seasonal foods I plan to enjoy over the holidays.
I spent some of yesterday working, but at least got out early enough to enjoy a BBQ and Blimes while the weather was still nice. An insane thunder/hail storm that made me think the world was going to end eventually sent me indoors for snacks and DIY Blimes. When I returned home, the storm had passed and I was still able to catch a few fireworks in my neighborhood.
Also, there’s this rad guy and an American flag. Happy 4th of July!
Have I mentioned we’re going on a cruise this weekend?
I’m completely packed and in vacation mode already and it’s only Tuesday. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite music to sail away to.
Warning. This gets seriously cheesy.
The Chantays Pipeline
At some point I found this amazing mix tape that my dad made called Surfer Rock Instrumentals. Every song on it is pure vacation gold.
The Go Go’s Vacation
Jan & Dean Surf City
The Who Barbara Anne
I love hearing The Who destroy this song far more that I like the original.
The Beach Boys Kokomo
Don’t hate.
The Ventures Walk Don’t Run ’64
Kermit the Frog Caribbean Amphibian
Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville
Jimmy Buffett Cheeseburger in Paradise
Yes, there are two Jimmy Buffett songs on the list. He’s the king of laid back party jams of the tropical variety. And seriously, the outfits in these videos are amazing.
This is our final gift guide of the year, so it seams appropriate to make it a Michigan made guide. Here are some of our favorites from etsy sellers in the mitten.
Show Them Where Your Heart Is Pillow from Marsh Home

“It’s that time of year again, and I don’t know if I can last.”
So begins my favorite childhood Christmas record and I couldn’t agree more. Once Thanksgiving is over I am so excited for the Christmas season. To help get into the holiday mood, we’ve decided to put together gift guides for everyone on your list.
The Detroit Urban Craft Fair was a huge success this year with record attendance! We had a great time and would like to thank everyone who came out to support us and the other local vendors.
We unveiled a couple new items including our holiday themed mustache ornaments and these screen printed “It’s So Cold in the D” Christmas cards.
If you missed the Detroit Urban Craft Fair, you can find the card in our Etsy store, along with other new items to be listed in the next day or two.
Thanks again to everyone involved in the event this past weekend!
