Motown Museum

The Motown Museum, where Berry Gordy once bought a strip of houses and started the Motown sound, is actually just a short distance from my house and I finally got around to visiting it the other day. It was probably one of the most fun tours of a museum I’ve been on, and included plenty of singing from the tour guide and concluded with the entire group dancing in the recording studio.

They didn’t allow any photos inside, but here’s some great Motown photos, including a record label I liked where the record was used as a bicycle wheel. Apparently, radio stations used to only be allowed to play three artists from one label per hour, so Berry Gordy just kept creating record labels to get more of his artists played per hour.
